Had the first interview of the summer this afternoon - phone rang just as I was about to head out to the barn to get started on the evening milking chores. Spent ~35 minutes on the phone with three administrator-types from a little town in southwest Utah...and have just finished making flight reservations to go out for a look-see.

I'm not holding my breath, but it did sound pretty positive over the phone...

On-line job applications can be a huge pain in the rear end. Just finished up two of them - between them, it took nearly 4 hours...and almost none of the information could be copied from one to the other, because their questions were ever-so-slightly different. Grr.

Nine applications finished today - four in MN (Edina, Eden Prairie, West Saint Paul and Gibbons-Fairfax-Winthrop), two in WI (Baldwin-Woodville and Ladysmith), 3 in Kentucky (Louisville, Winchester, and Litchfield), and one in Utah. Talked to the principal of the school in Utah this afternoon - they're interviewing people this week. Might have to use my free flight ticket (the return from CI) to get there, although he did say they could do a telephone interview. I'd rather be on-site, though, so I can get a feel for the place. It looks like it's about 150 miles from Vegas, down in the southwest corner...close to Zion National Park, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, and Dixie National Forest.

Time to go finish the online one for Bismarck, NoDak...not quite the middle of nowhere, but you can see it from there. :P

Am seriously considering expanding the area where I've been job-hunting. I know of a couple of openings in Ohio, and one in Utah. Vegas is always hiring, too...

If chicky-poo tries to set me up again with someone she hasn't met (but I have), I'm gonna flip out. We've gone through the main reason why I will never date this person before, but for whatever reason, she can't get it through her head that we're just friends, and will never be more than that. Grr.

chicky-poo: But I just want someone to be happy, that's all.
me: Uh...I've been intentionally single for a long time. Think that's just by chance?

Some people just don't get it.

First crop of hay is almost done. Only one field left to do - have 6 rounds cut on it, but since it's supposed to rain tonight, that won't be ready to go tomorrow.

I hate having to be patient. The "hurry-up-and-wait" bit about applying for jobs is a pain in the arse.

Finished raking the hayfield today...baling was interrupted by rain, though. So much for yesterday morning's 3-day forecast that said clear until tomorrow.
Bonus points to Kate for diagnosing my cold on Monday...it finally showed up last night. Colds are bad enough, but during the summer? Bleah.

I might remember to post here every once in a while...if not, well, you'll just have to check the other blog that I do update more regularly. :)
